al-’Imam ash-Shafi`iyy said in his book, Al-’Umm: “It is conceivable that Allah, the Exalted, ordered them with facing the direction of al-Qiblah by seeking its signs. The Aḍ-ḥā `Id is one of the great days of the year on which the pilgrim fulfils the obligations of Hajj. Hence, the pilgrim and the non-pilgrim can practise this sunnah.
