The Essentials Of Islamic Belief
Islam is the Religion of all the Prophets of Allâh starting with Adam and ending with Muḥammad. In Arabic Islam means submission. To believe in the heart and declare with the tongue: « No one is God except Allâh and Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allâh » is how one becomes Muslim. Utterance with the Two Professions (Ash-Shahadatan) is required of the person who is not already a Muslim. A Muslim is a believer and a follower of Islam.

The Qur’ân is not man-made. It pertains the orders of Allâh. The Qur’ân we read now, is in a language that we understand. But the speech of Allâh is neither a letter, language, or sound. Thus becomes a blasphemer who attributes to God the son, even if he said it by joking or under the effect of anger or by not aiming at the true meaning of the word son and even the one who attributes to God the space or time or change or organs or mood or direction or whatever is attributes of creatures. In the same way, becomes a disbeliever whoever claims to be a non-Muslim or support the disbelief or approves the disbelief or denies the law of God or belittles it or one of the prophets or angels, or attributes to him disbelief. To return to Islam the person must abandon the disbelief and pronounce the two testimonies: there is no god except God and Muḥammad is the messenger of God.

The Two Testifications Shahadahs
Professing the Two Shahadahs: In regards to the blasphemer who wants to embrace Islam, the belief is not accepted without one uttering the Two Testifications (Shahadahs). In addition, the Muslim is obligated to recite the Two Testifications (Shahadahs) in every prayer for validity of that prayer.
